Objective 2: To promote, empower and implement river basin stewardship through green living concept and Public Outreach Programme (POP) Approach among local communities, public, businesses, NGO/CBOs and agencies within Kinta River Basin Management
Activity 2.1: Local Community demonstrating stewardship of Kinta River Basin through green living initiatives
- Empowering of local communities to implement the SCE-IRBM at ground
- Support initiatives included in the Upper Kinta Basin Management Strategy (UKBMaS)
Activity 2.2: Establishment of Friends of Kinta River Basin (FOKRIB) network
- Formalise the FORKRIB network
- Conduct series of capacity building activities
- Establish or support sustainable eco-tourism / recreational activities for members of FORKRIB
Activity 2.3: Engagement of identified business players (Industry and agriculture based etc.) and other stakeholders (agencies, NGOs) in Green Living as well as vulnerable groups through Stakeholder Stewardship of Kinta River Basin and Best Management Practices
- Targeted groups empowered with trainings and supported on the green living implementation activities
- Engage and support businesses (one each for industry and agriculture based etc.) on best management practices within premises or outside
- Identified vulnerable groups trained on community flood preparedness and supported to develop community based flood hazard
Activity 2.4 Visibility
- Development and disseminating to outreach engage and promote the project including project activities, KRHT and SCE-IRBM
