STATION FLOAT & FLOW

Floating Wetland
A brackish water lake connected to a wider ecosystem within the park, eventually linking to a nearby peatland. The area serves as a pilot site showcasing twenty (20) floating wetland cells planted with selected native wetland species. These floating cells create habitats for aquatic organisms and function as an outdoor learning platform for understanding a dynamic biogeochemical process too.
These plants within the floating cells play an important role in water purification. Their root systems absorb excess nutrients, trap suspended sediments, and reduce pollutants, contributing to clearer and healthier water. This living system demonstrates how the ecosystem naturally manage water quality, support biodiversity, and maintain ecological balance.
